The host model has one number attached to it: you keep 85% of every session at your site. That is the headline, and headlines leave things out. Here is the rest of it.
The split
You keep 85% of the gross value of every charging session at your site.
Magma keeps 15%, and that 15% is not margin sitting untouched. It absorbs:
- payment gateway charges on every transaction
- the CSMS platform your chargers run on
- driver-side support when someone has trouble at your bay
- maintenance and warranty on the hardware
The point of the structure is that you are not invoiced separately for any of those. They come out of our share, not yours.
What you pay for
Electricity. The units draw from your connection, and that consumption is yours. It is the one running cost on your side, and it is the reason the tariff is set jointly rather than by us alone - the number has to work against what you actually pay per unit.
Installation. This is quoted per site and is not bundled into the hardware price. Cabling runs, civil work, a meter or load augmentation, signage - these vary enormously between a basement car park and a forecourt, so a single blanket figure would be a fiction. Typical installations land between ₹8,000 and ₹35,000 depending on what the site needs.
We would rather quote your site honestly than advertise a low bundled number and then discover the cable run is forty metres.
When you get paid
Settlement runs on a fixed monthly cycle, not on a rolling or threshold basis. You do not have to reach a minimum balance before money moves.
Each settlement comes with a full session statement - every session at your site, the energy delivered, and the amount. The same data is live in your dashboard as sessions happen, so the statement should never contain a surprise.
What we handle, what you handle
You provide the location, the power, and access to the unit when it needs attention.
We handle the software, the payments, driver support, maintenance and warranty. Your chargers appear in the ChargeSpot app so drivers can find them.
That division is the whole idea of the host model: you are contributing a place where vehicles already park, not taking on an operating business. If you do want to run the operation yourself - set your own tariffs, use your own branding, sign your own sites - that is the CPO model, and the economics work differently.
